Blizzard is one of my favorite gaming companie. That being said, I would like to tell you that this review is totally unbiased. Play the game for yourself if you believe otherwise or watch X-Play.

Now onto the game, Starcraft II is the continuation of one of the strongest gaming franchises to date. A franchise that derives all of its power from one game. Despite the fact that the Zerg and Protoss campaigns are going to be sold separately, they'll all be worth buying. The Terran campaing alone feels like a 60 dollar game, and you'll be satisfied with your purchase after that. It picks up almost directly after the events of Brood War and follows the grizzled space marine turned mercenary Jim Raynor in a contract-by-contract format. The campaign will serve as a fun introduction to Starcraft for the new kids, and will satisfy legacy fans. Not enough to completely forget about Ghost, but enough to make you smile for now.

The old fans will notice some interesting changes to the gameplay and each race. The Terrans have scrapped Goliaths, one of my favorite units, and replaced them with Vikings. The walkers can shift between a ground mode and a flying state with decent air-to-air and ground-to-ground attacks. The Protoss scrapped Dark Archons, another unit I liked, for the Colossi. Colossi are the bane of light ground units, but their monstorous size lets AA attacks hit them. Finally, the Zerg lost the Stalker, a unit that everyone hated, and replaced them with Infestors. These slugs can spawn infested marines and can mind control units. There are other changes too, but the overall dynamic is about the same. The Zerg rush, the Protoss tech, and the Terrans are somewhere in the middle.

All in all, you're getting all of the original punch of the great franchise but there'senough new stuff to keep the series fresh.
OVERALL: 5/5
