So in 2007 an album hit the markets and had several mixed reviews. The name Avenged Sevenfold rang out very well in my ears. This review will cover all the amazing?songs that this band has made for you. Instead of covering the pieces like bass, guitar, drum ect..I will cover it song by song.?Here we go.

Avenged Sevenfold is...
M. Shadows - Vocals
Zacky Vengeance - Guitar
Synyster Gates - Lead Guitar
Johnny Christ - Bass
The Reverend [Rev for short] - Drums

Critical Acclaim 10/10
When the song is starting an organ is playing and a guitar slowly kicks in playing?with the organ. Then around 45 seconds in the song it all just kicks into overdrive and takes off. A loud scream covered by a steady beast. Then the lyrics start. The Lyrics are well written. The content of the lyrics is more political than other songs but they don't put it up like other bands. A7X makes it sound cool. The guitar solo...Very groovy. Makes the song fit together very well.

Almost Easy 10/10
Takes off with guitar, bass, and drums. The Rev lays down a very fast and very Latin beat throughout the song. Then the vocals start. The vocals in this song are some of the best on the album. It explains that its almost east to do some things. even when it shouldn't be. Overall a very nice song.

Scream 10/10
The darkest song?I feel. Its very slow beat at first and slowly picks up. but the dark part i mentioned is the lyrics. Sort of a pleasure through killing type of thing. Nothing is bad about this song though. Its very smooth and..purely rocks out. The guitar solo on this song is the fastest one on the album. Synyster Gates. just shreds out of nowhere and its pretty sweet. Play this song and everyone in the room will want to rock out.

Afterlife 20/10
after the first three songs you get warmed up by some strings. an entire orchestra of string instruments plays the intro .Then it just slams and you get to hear guitars play then stop for a second to let Johnny play a simple bridge. Then everything starts. The vocals are about someone who has died and goes to his afterlife. But he sees that he was a bad person and he wants to go back to make amends with the people he was bad to. He prays to God and just as you think he may have another chance laughing comes into play. The laughing clearly tells that hes doomed. Thats just my opinion though. The guitar solo is the greatest solo EVER. It completes the song and just makes you feel good. Another thing I want to point out is the bass. Johnny plays a little bass line in this song that I give kudos to. Amazing work.

Gunslinger. 10/10
This song is about someone who has been away from someone else they love. Gunslinger starts out with Matt and an acoustic guitar. M. Shadows writes the best lyrics about people who cant be with the ones they love. After about a minute the song blasts into electric guitars and such but Shadows keeps his lyrics softer and touching.

Unbound (The Wild Ride) 8/10
Ehh. The only reason the song gets marked down is at the end..Kids sing a part. Ehh not a fan of kids singing. Sorry. But hey the rest is great!

Brompton Cocktail 15/10
THIS SONG IS SWEET! I cant really explain it.. You need to listen to understand it. one thing though. It will blow you away.

Lost 10/10
So now A7X is using a voice synth device. Its used by pop music people. but it works better than I would have though. An Antiwar song with pop..hmm.. Mix that with Rock and what do you get? Lost.

A Little Piece Of Heaven 10/10
Ok.....A Broadway show tune type of song. But the lyrics.. wtf. Necrophilia and two dead lovers killing everyone. Uhh the story is a man loves a woman. But its been so strong for far to long. the man snaps and kills his wife/girlfriend. Then he sleeps with the body. Yeah SLEEPS WITH IT. sick.. But her spirit is angry and repossesses the body. She then kills him. Then he must adventure from far beyond the grave and apologize. He swears himself to her and they marry. Then they both go off on a killing spree together. This song has the strings again. Along with some brass and a choir.

Dear God 10/10
The final song of the album. Its a country song too! I'm not into country myself but Avenged Sevenfold can make ANYTHING sound perfect. Once again Matt brings some very amazing lyrics. This song is perfect for anyone who just misses someone. And the solo at the end has so much heart in it...you may be able to feel the emotions put into it. A great way to end an amazing album. Dear God really makes things feel complete and finished.

Overall: 12/10
Avenged Sevenfold has broken every boundary and changed the face of music forever. After listening to these songs your soul can rest easy..Or go on a killing spree.
