The Other Guys is a Will Ferrell comedy. I went into this movie with a sense of apprehension due to his recent steaming piles of shit. COUGH, Land of the Lost, COUGH COUGH. So imagine my surprise when not only did this movie not suck, it was actually rather humorous. While Ferrell is funny as Alan Gamble, Mark Wahlberg steals the show as Terry Hoitz, a cop who is disgraced for reasons I won't give away, but it involes shooting a famous "biracial angel". The plot is decent, the comedy is surprisingly good, and the script is one of the better ones for this year's comedy lineup. My one complaint is that I wish Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock were featured more prominently.
