Robin Hood is back, and this time there is no Kevin Costner to ruin the movie. This latest journey into Nottingham takes place as a lowly archer named Robin Longstride returns from the Crusades under disguise as a knight called Sir Robert Locksley. He unites the barons and helps repel a French attack, but in doing so makes himself the outlaw we all know and love. This is the story before the legends. Plot: 8/10 Overall: 9/10 Final Word: Because of the lack of Kevin Costner, this movie is already great. The action sequences are fast paced and the plot is engaging, but somewhat simplistic. The movie would definitely benefit from some "R" worthy bloodflow and kills, but it is still a great reimagining of the legendary hero. |
