Righteous Kill is kind of a buddy cop film, with Oscar heavyweights Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino starring as two New York City detectives on the case of a serial killer who kills bad people. While the movie is not bad, the plot seems like a mix between The Boondock Saints, Dexter, and Lethal Weapon. All of which have sucked their genres dry. So when the movie tries to be interesting, it just feels like everything has been done before, including the "twist" ending. The movie does have its moments, though, and it is far from below average. It just seems to be less than outstanding. 50 Cent does do a good job "acting" in his role as a drug dealing gangster... it must have been a huge strech for him. Acting: 10/10 (Come on, it has DeNiro and Pacino, what did you expect?) Overall: 8/10 Final Word: The movie is good, but certain elements feel tired and overused. Rent or burn, don't buy. |
