Pitch Black is a movie about a merchant ship that crash lands on an unknown planet. The crew and passengers must work together to find a way off the planet... before something bad happens.

Plot: 6/10
Acting: 7/10
Bad Assery: 10/10
Characters: 10/10
Special Effects: 8/10

OVERALL: 9/10

Pitch Black introduces us to, as he so eloquently puts it, "Richard B. Riddick. Escaped convict, murderer." Played by Vin Diesel, this character is grade-A badass. Not only is he smart, perceptive, and cunning, he can see in the dark. And he likes knives. Sharp, shiny, deadly knives. He is basically what makes this movie great. From the first time you hear his voice (which will rattle your living room walls), you know he is not just some ordinary convict. As the plot of the movie progresses (I won't spoil it for you, but they survivors end up needing Riddick to help them), you see more and more of his morals, or lack thereof, and the movie gets better. The special effects are good for a low budget B-movie. And the acting is decent, getting a huge boost by Riddick's voice. The overall plot of the movie is good, with only a few dumb parts.

FINAL WORD: Basically, this is a great movie, and you should go watch it now.
