Plot: 7/10 AnD was a great book. When I saw the trailers I expected a great movie. What I saw was a good movie, but a bad rendition of the book. They basically looked at the book and said, "What is this trash?" It follows the basic story, but a lot of details and cool things were changed. I understand that this would have extended an already long movie, but they could have done some trimming from the drawn-out back half of the movie. The Illuminati Diamond was completely removed, and replaced by the Papal Keys. CERN only received a single scene, Max was completely removed, and the entire episode occurs after "The DaVinci Code". The movie was good as a movie, and had some cool things. The matter-antimatter annihilation scene was cool, and the effects team did some work. Tom Hanks pulled his usual epicness in his role, but was surrounded by characters forced to act like complete nimrods. When Lagdon would find an altar everyone else ran about yelling, "It has to be here! I'm not seeing it right now! Maybe you're wrong!" Its a good flick, but it will be worse if you have read the book. OVERALL: 7/10 |
