Bloomington-Normal, IL. - A.I. has been seen as an impossible feat for humanity since Isaac Asimov first wrote about the revolutionary idea. Large strides have been taken in the years following this epic vision, but the pinnacle of this research has not been achieved. That was until a few days ago when scientists at the Institute of Internet Research detected an odd segment of code roaming across the Web. At first they believed it to be a new type of virus or worm, but upon further inspection they found something they had never seen before. The string of code was similar to a type of polymorphic virus, but it was more advanced than any virus that had ever been written to date.
It came from unknown origins and had been roaming the Internet for several months. After several days of observation scientists believe that a common virus had managed to "evolve" its code. The code continued to modify itself while it was trapped by IIR researchers. The first few days were spent observing the hyper-advanced virus, but on the third day of observation an odd occurrence was observed.
The virus had managed to bypass the firewalls and scanning software and reached the Internet again. This time the virus displayed an erratic pattern of actions. The virus managed to create an email account, bypassing the security captcha, and also joined several forums. While bots have been programmed to do this for years the next action startled the observers. The virus began to carry out a conversation on a forum and left an unusual first message, "F1R5T P05T N00BZ!!!1!" The virus continued to wander about the Internet and has not been captured since. It is ironic that the most advanced form of life displays the traits of a 13-year old troll. If you encounter the virus/A.I. you are encouraged to report the sighting to the IIR.
